Alwanza.com is my personal site which I started coding in 1998.  These days it averages about 200 visits per month.  It contains poetry, art, recipes, travel diaries, photos.  I only use text editors to code and revise it.  In addition to the standard content you would expect to see on a personal site, I have also added some professional touches:

• Favicon
  A favicon is visible in the address bar and makes a site more identifiable.
• Contacts form with captcha gif contact.cgi
  A contact form enables viewers to communicate with you even if they don't have an email client available.  A captcha gif makes spamming by robots more difficult.  It has completely eliminated spam from my website.
• Privacy Policy
• Custom 404 custom404.html
  A "file not found" page that is designed for alwanza.com. This 404 contains a metatag 12 second redirect to the alwanza.com home page.
• What's New page whatsNew.cgi
  This page reports on any page that has been modified on the Alwanza.com site within the last 21 days.  Not only is it helpful information for repeat visitors; it also serves as a security measure.
• Visitor Count and Visitor Report stats.cgi
• Blog current.html and default.html
  The current.html page contains the current blog.  The default.html page contains links to all the archived blogs, starting in 2002.  The default.html page has some interesting scripting that permits the stylesheet to be set by the month of the year.
• Mirror Mirror Site for Alwanza.com
  This mirror site is a scripted back-up.  It is a component of the "What's New" page and it facilitates checking for link errors within Alwanza.com.
